We are having a new kitchen designed and I would love to know what are your kitchen must haves!

Whether it’s appliances, storage ideas, practical or innovative designs, inspire me!

Wish I'd got the slide Neff ovens as I'm quite short and I have to stand on tiptoes to get stuff out of the top oven without burning my arms. I wanted them but kitchen designer talked me out of it, not sure why, presume some commission somewhere....

Also our square sink doesn't wash bits down! Really annoying! I've no idea whether it's the sink design/angle or whether it's because it's square, but I must use 200% more water as I'm constantly rinsing round the sink.

@roselilylavender I have neither a corner of crap nor a drawer of doom! Not in the kitchen anyway, there may be a drawer of doom in the sitting room (it's where DH puts everything he doesn't know what to do with, so that includes advertising leaflets, the empty envelopes for everything, old takeaway menus, several from each place we use, etc. All the stuff that any normal person put into the recycling).

We spent a HUGE amount of money doing our kitchen and there is a LOT of storage, so everything has its place. It is also long and thin, to avoid corners of crap we don't really have a corner to stuff things into! One side is full length cupboards only, the other side has the sink nearly at the end, with just a small bit of space in the corner that houses the 'cooking' kettle and the pestle and mortar. The other end has a full length cupboard housing the hoover, ironing board, mop etc. The end of the work surface next to that cupboard (which could technically be called a corner) has the toaster and the bread bin. So - no corner of crap!

I hate the slide neff ovens. We have 4 and they get crumbs and dirt between the glass layers. Oven cleaners refuse to take them apart to clean between the glass becuase they are too difficult to reassemble properly.

A sofa
A big drawer for papers and pens and coins etc
Two big sinks
An extra deep dishwasher with cutlery drawer
Deep drawers for plates, pans etc
A bin drawer
Lots of drawers
A nice view
Cork floor

I also second these

Self-cleaning oven
Corner floor units have circular slide-out metal inserts
A large area of uninterrupted work surface.
Microwave built in.
Lots of electric sockets
Extra wide induction hob that doubles up as worktop space
LED under cupboard lights
No square trendy sink- smooth rounded edges

A kitchen provider on our local high street posted this the other day and I thought it might be useful. We're considering renovating our kitchen later this year and I've taken some inspo from the article :)

Just mentioned this on another thread. I currently house my tea towels in a tiny drawer so have to chop off a bit and iron to make them fit

I would love a big drawer I could just chuck them in and not even fold

Oh and pan drawes
