Can anyone help me figure this out please?

I am ND and really struggle with maths. I get really confused.

My dogs are currently on food that lasts them 7 weeks and it costs me £108

I'm looking at switching food.

It's 18 tins in a pack for £15
I have 2 dogs and they would eat a tin each a day.

So how much would 7 weeks cost me please?

I'm only doing a rough calculation.
Your £15 pack will last you 9 days.

7 weeks is 49 days

5 packs lasts 45 days and costs 5x£15 which is £75

You need nearly another half pack to cover the remaining 4 days, say £4 roughly,

So it will cost you around £79 to feed your dogs for 7 weeks on the £15 packs.

I might stick with what they're on then as it's not much of a saving and the other food is better.

I've done calculations like this with catfood and I still could never work out how many boxes I needed to buy per week or which was best value.

A pack lasts 9 days as you use 2 tins per day.

7 weeks is 49 days so you need 49/9 packs per 7 weeks = 5.44 packs

5.44 x 15 = £81.66 per 7 weeks on average, which agrees with the first answer

But if you say it's not much of a saving and the other food is better (and presumably your dogs like it, where there's a risk they won't like the new food) it's probably best to stick with it and see if there's any way to get it at a discount, eg subscribe and save or a different supplier - we get a lot of our cat food from either Zooplus, Pets at Home or Amazon as that's where it's cheapest. They all do subscribe and save and Zooplus also give reward points which we use for little freebies and they have a discount scheme where you pay a fee and get a small extra percentage off each order.

It's forthglade so quite expensive.
