How is your pelvic floor after 2+ kids?

I have 1 (vaginal forceps) and my pelvic floor is as it was before, however I was very young when I had him which I'm sure has a part to play in it.

I'm also hot on my pelvic floor exercises.

I hear mixed experiences from women, some stating they have never been the same down there. With urinary incontinence etc. and their vagina feeling more 'lax' or 'loose' inside.

I'd ideally like 3-4 DC, but not at the expense of having a fully functional body and pelvic floor.

I'd really appreciate if people could share their experiences?

It was the first baby that did it with a bad tear. I can’t do star jumps or trampolines or run for long distances. Otherwise okay in daily life. Much better when my weight is lower and doing Pilates.

I had two vaginal births and have never had a problem with incontinence incl sneezing or jumping EXCEPT sometimes if I go in the trampoline with my kids and I need the loo, I have to go pretty soon after noticing I need to go, iykwim

Mine is OK, I take my dcs trampolining and have no problems jumping with them, and I can go through a work day without needing the loo. I don't feel any sense of looseness inside, although it's not the same as it was before kids.
I've had 1 vaginal birth (no tears or stitches, no instruments) and 2 elcs. I'm a bit lazy with pelvic floor exercises and general fitness.

I've had 3 children - all vaginal deliveries. They're all adults now and I'm 60 but I've never had any problem with my pelvic floor.

I did my exercises after each pregnancy and I still do quite a lot of exercise - I run regularly and go to the gym. I've never had any leakage

I have three DC, all vaginal deliveries, and my pelvic floor is fine, no issues.

AngeloMysterioso · 23/01/2025 23:42

3 DC- there is still some laxity but the youngest is only 14 months and still bfing. Otherwise, not great, not terrible. I can still run and go climbing.

10 years later and still incontinent. My fault completely as never did exercises. Even opening a tap makes me have to cross my legs because it will trigger. If I am walking and I need to sneeze I will have to stop and cross my legs. Can't jump or run much either.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 23/01/2025 23:44

No running or sneezing for me.
Still worth it though.

3 children 3rd degree tear with first, another tear with 3rd. Luckily I’m still okay years later, no issues.

I think it can be just luck. I was fine after first VB. Second was a planned CS & I felt like I needed to do pelvic exercises after. pregnancies alone & age has an impacf.
