Mattresses. Tell me what you prefer

I had a new mattress a few months ago but it was just a cheap one and I now need to look for something a bit more permanent. I’m a side sleeper and recently I’ve been getting a lot of pain in my hips and bum. I have a mattress topper which isn’t helping. Not really.

So what is your mattress and do you recommend it?

The problem is everyone has something different that works for them.

Maybe go to a bed shop try out some beds and see which one feels good.

Or talk to a medical professional about what might be causing the issues.

I find that if I spend a lot of my time lying on the sofa it really makes my body ache and makes it hard to sleep. Bummer I know.

Maybe there has been some change in your lifestyle recently that is causing your issues.

We've got a Simba and I wouldn't recommend it, it's a superking and has sagged on both sides so we now sleep in a permanent dip.

We've got a Hestia sprung mattress with a built in pillowtop. It's lovely and soft as a result but still supportive. It was about £1200 but worth every penny. We've got memory foam on the spare bed and I can't sleep on it, it's too hot and too soft - you can't roll over on it! Grandkids seem to love it though.

We’ve got a Harrison Spinks and I love it
its a med/soft and I think it was about £1200 for king size as it’s an investment for the next 10/15yrs
Go for the best you can afford

id go for
Harrison spinks
vispring
Hypnos
You might pick one up cheaper on EBay

We got a Harrison Spinks one too - after having a memory foam mattress which I'd disliked for years - too sweaty.

I like the new one, but it's very heavy to change the sheets...have a think about that. It takes 2 of us to lift if up and put new sheets on.
