What would you like as a leaving (work) gift?

As per the thread title really! My manager is leaving and we've had a little whip round and have about £150 to send her on her way with. Just wondering what would actually be a nice gift, I'm stuck!

Depends if you know what she likes.
Personally I'd like a Lego Store voucher 😂

The money.

I left my old job a few months back and along with bottles of fizz ), some nice new stationery and a mug I got a really gorgeous bracelet and earrings. I'll have fond memories every time I wear it (which is daily currently)

the best leaving present I ever had was being taken to an art gallery/shop and picking out a picture. I still have that picture 30 years later, its a limited edition print and I love it

If no one knows her well enough - i'd go for the cash personally, and a wee gimmick present

UninterestingFirstPost · 21/01/2025 20:50

John Lewis voucher.
Or a carton of cigarettes like my colleagues used to do.

mindutopia · 21/01/2025 20:52

A gift voucher and flowers.

Or really just anything. I’ve just left my job after 6 years with the same organisation BECAUSE I HAVE F-ING CANCER and I didn’t so much as get a card! My line manager is a massive arse.

Ask them.

I've always been the collector at works and always asked.

When I left my last UK place I wasn't asked and was given a Cross fountain pen that I have never used. It's not as if I ever used a fountain pen or expressed any interest in pens. What a waste of money.

Thanks for the responses so far! Tbh I was edging towards a voucher for most of it but wasn't sure if it was a bit impersonal. She's a bit of a foodie so I thought for a nice local independent place would be good.
Would like to get a little something to go alongside it though...
