Hello, has anyone here taken their dog or cat from the UK to NZ and can share wisdom, recommendations, insights?
My dog had her rabies jab three months ago and is booked for her rabies titration test tomorrow. As I understand it, she can then fly three months from tomorrow's date (provided the results show rabies vaccine was effective in her bloodstream.)?
Which airlines and pet transport companies would you recommend?
how does it work at the stopover? E.g. if you go LHR, Singapore, AKL. You get to Singapore. Does the dog stay in possession of the airline the whole time or do you take them from A to B and check them in? Can you see them, give them comfort, a drink? Does the pet company handle this? Does the airline? Assuming you fly with your pet.
And please no horror stories... I am already plagued with nightmares as it is. I am sure some people will say "rehome" but the dog is three, healthy and part of the family. My child has autism and she's his only friend.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully brought their dog or cat from England to New Zealand recently. Our final destination is Chch where I understand you can visit during their 10 day quarantine.
Thanks
