My df has offered to take us all skiing next year but is unwilling to go in school holidays as his budget won’t stretch that far and my DM won’t ski when it’s busy. Neither of our DC have ever had less than 99% attendance in a school year, my eldest will be year 9 and has outstanding attainment so far, so it’s the last year I’d even consider him missing school for a holiday. If you’ve done this is it better to go straight after the Christmas holiday and miss the first week back, or is it better to get back for a couple of weeks get up to speed on topics ans then have a break?
