Anyone had a holiday in Jersey/Guernsey with kids?

Thinking about potential summer holidays next year - kids will be 8 and 11. They're used to bucket & spade and recently we've usually gone to somewhere with 'fun' pools, quite family-centred.

I'm curious about the Channel islands as never been and seems like 'far enough' away without a long flight, easy to get around and the beaches, island life etc look lovely. Just wondered if the kids would be bored going to beaches each day and/or if there are any water parks or fun kid-type stuff. Also it doesn't look particularly hot - low 20s? I don't like it too hot so could be ideal, but also don't want it to be chilly in summer!

Any tips/experience welcome! Is there much difference between the islands as I'm mostly just guessing from photos?!

I've also looked at the Isles of Scilly - went there as a teen and it was beautiful, but I know it can be expensive, so wondered if it might be better to save and go there instead?

We used to go to Guernsey when the kids were little. Bliss!
What a fabulous island. Gorgeous beaches, lovely climate, things to do, and lots of outdoors.
You've made me miss it!!

We had a week in Jersey in the covid era, it was blissful! Beautiful clear seand golden beaches, it did help that we were there in a heatwave. We had a hire car so explored the island and went to different beaches, had a day at the Durrell zoo, and a trip to the underground German hospital. We stayed in the Merton hotel self catering apartment which meant we got the use of their pool and slides, which were a bit shabby but our child loved it.

Yes love Jersey. We went when DS was 9 and he loved it. We did hire a car as although it's small it was much easier to get around.

When we went to Guernsey the weather wasn’t great and the highlight was the tomato museum…it was boring. It also felt like one huge golf course. Jersey is larger and had much more to do.

We have done Jersey with all ages of children and no children.

Various bays and beaches.
Various museums and castles.
Walking across causeway to lighthouse as the tide goes out
Watching splashy waves at St ouens when the tide is high.
The zoo.
Lots of cafes.
War tunnels.
Crazy golf.

My happy place.
