Tenerife to be exact. I’m going next week and I love a supermarket browse but I’m wondering if there’s anything cheaper or unique there?

If you can cope with holiday branded souvenirs their coffee cups they sell with the matte outer and shiny inside plus a pot spoon are amazing! Allow you to drink a really hot cuppa without burning your lips.

Breathinginthenewyear · 19/01/2025 20:35

Came here to say aloe Vera as well 😁

Pottingup · 19/01/2025 20:39

The little bottles of mojo sauce are really good to have with your wrinkly potatoes.

BraveFacesEveryone · 19/01/2025 20:40

Another vote for honey rum.

TeenLifeMum · 19/01/2025 20:44

I bought raybans in 2022 for £65 that were great but last summer I wanted to replace them in Gran Canaria (same shop) and they were £245 so I didn’t. Perfume was a good price though - in a proper shop not market. Can’t remember the name but they had a yellow elephant logo.

TartanMammy · 19/01/2025 20:53

Honey rum

SeatonCarew · 19/01/2025 20:55

Spirits in plastic brick bottles.

BlackSheepThisYear · 19/01/2025 21:10

Perfume - I always stock up!

cannynotsay · 19/01/2025 21:15

Cream of the banana

way2serious · 19/01/2025 21:16

Is aloe Vera in a gel or cream

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 19/01/2025 22:19

Honey rum and aloe Vera gel (we like to keep it in the fridge)

tfu · 19/01/2025 23:29

This gin is delicious and much cheaper in canaries northernwineandbeer.co.uk/sherry-vermouth-gin/p/macronesian-white-gin

worrisomeasset · 19/01/2025 23:43

The Dorada brewery makes some very tasty beers, which are sold in cute little 250ml bottles.

Pieceofpurplesky · 19/01/2025 23:57

I prefer aloe gel and like a pp keep it in the fridge

sausageupanalley · 20/01/2025 00:10

Adding to the others who've already mentioned honey rum, it's absolutely delicious, you'll be given it as a shot after meals so will probably get to tybit during your holiday. It's about 7 euro for a massive bottle, I'm sad I've nearly finished my bottle.

Verite1 · 20/01/2025 00:13

The local Malvasia wine is lovely. Not much is exported so hard to buy outside of canaries.

Bogartysmack79 · 20/01/2025 07:34

Ooh. That's one of the many destination I'm yearning to go to for our next holiday! ( April's Lanzarote) I'd be buying Tenerife tops,Leche Leches,Fanta Lemon and trying Aquarious. Plus getting the Spanish version of Maoms probable too as the kids love them in Lanza!! Have a lovely time

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 20/01/2025 08:03

If you are self catering, uncooked frozen Gambas from Mercadona, around ten euros a kilo.

The spice you put in paella ... cant recall the name. Much cheaper.

Mykittensmittens · 20/01/2025 08:07

Go into hyperdino and get some ‘EJove’ aloe Vera triple effect cream. It’s under a fiver for a tub and knocks socks off every single moisturiser I’ve ever used - it’s better than clarins for me, and smells wonderful.

i’m currently contemplating paying £12 postage for a £5 cream just to get some more as it’s unlikely I’ll get back to the canaries this year 😭
