Siri keeps listening

Anyone else noticed that Siri keeps listening to them recently?!

Both me and DP have noticed the little black swirly ball showing on our phones when we least expect it?!

The other day, we were talking and suddenly Siri set a timer? We had mentioned something about it being 10 mins away, but did not need a timer?!

Just creeping us out a bit

I thought there was an ongoing court case in USA about this very thing?
I don't have any experience of Siri but my sister and husband got rid of Alexa because they found out that it had been listening to their conversations without activation.

I’ve previously been torn apart on here for pages and pages for suggesting our devices are listening to us. I take it for granted that someone can always listen in, I’m not doing anything that I care about someone else hearing though and have 3 Alexas round the house. I first ‘confirmed’ (in my mind) a few years ago that my phone was listening to me after having a discussion with my friend, and then had fb put ads up for a product relating to our conversation. I was told I was being biased and loads of people think the same after seeing coincidental ads after a discussion. Except my discussion was with my sister in person about my dad I’d been nc with for 29 years, and she told me he was in hospital in Thailand with malaria. 10 mins later I was getting ads on fb for anti malaria tablets from a pharmaceutical company in Phuket. That’s just me being paranoid, right?

This happens all the time to me. I've been through and disabled microphone permissions on all apps but it still happens. No way would I get an alexa/siri!

I think it's bonkers that people deny it happens @Babadook76 - let's not pretend all these companies have installed listening devices on our phones for anything other than their own benefit, lol.

Did you ask how they thought it was activated? 😂
