Needing toilet for no 2 at night

Does anyone else need to visit the toilet at night for no 2? Been told its not normal! Stools are normal but sometimes lean towards constipation. I often need a wee at night and always have done but lately I've had the urge for the other thing. It's not a desperate urge but I feel uncomfortable enough that I can't return to bed unless I act on it.

Sorry if tmi. This isn't a troll post. I've been here a while, I'm just genuinely interested in how common or not this is.

I don't have any obvious bowel disorders apart from ibs. However been told ibs shouldn't/ doesn't cause issues at night. Plus I don't get diarrhea.

Maybe it's just my system being weird.

It could just be your system and your 'normal'. Try a magnesium supplement to help keep you regular

I've got crohns disease and my consultant has told me that it's not considered 'normal' to need a poo during the night. That part of your system shouldn't be active during the night.

I'd just keep an eye on things, take note of anything else odd going on.

This is what I thought and have been told as well. I didn't want to bother GP just on this basis without knowing if it's actually more common than I thought.

It doesn't happen every night by any means, just sometimes.
