Does anyone know how long it takes to get hearing aids on NHS?

I've got mild to moderate hearing loss and have tried a free trial of hearing aids. I found they were helpful in certain situations but don't think I'd wear them all the time (as negatives outweighed positives). The cost to buy them is £3k which I don't think is worth it really. If I opted to go with the nhs does anyone know what the wait time is roughly at the moment?
My Nan had a referral over a year ago and not heard anything but I think that's because she's 93 and they are just not bothering.

I would imagine that it depends on the wait times in your area - a friend of mine went via a SpecSavers Hearing Centre and got NHS funded hearing aids in about 3 weeks.

It didn't take my mum long...

She got her hearing checked at Specsavers in about August... Got NHS hearing aids in mid-November.
She did enquire as to whether going private would be better (more interested in whether the actual hearing aids would be better), but was told there isn't really much difference at this point.

based on my relatives experience either your nan has been referred for something else or you should chase up for her.

my relative experience is it’s like glasses, you call specsavers and have an appt and then aids are ordered and take a week or two to arrive. No way should she have been waiting a year!
