Career path of Youtube Quizzes

My friend's son is a free-lance translator, and he worried his future because of AI.

He is trying to establish a career path of presenting quizzes on a Youtube channel.

I wouldn't say anything, but I think it would be better for him to look for permanent translation work in, say, an agency, or else get a teaching job.

Am I hopelessly old-fashioned, or is a Youtube quiz channel a viable career path?

You can monetise youtube but it takes a lot of time and effort and is probably best as a complementary income stream. I wouldn't discount translation entirely - there is still plenty of work that is unsuited to AI. He should check out adrian Probst and kelsey frick on translation cintent creation. In-house translation jobs are pretty scarce but project manager jobs are much commoner. He could also look at going into translation tech.
