Booked first holiday. When to pay hotel?

Hi all, sorry stupid question but first time booking holiday abroad.

When booking via thr hotel website, I paid 25% deposit and received an email confirmation that I had booked.

When do I pay the rest of the balance, is this something typically paid at the hotel once checking in? (Just as it doesn’t say in the email when or how to pay the rest)

Yes you have to settle the balance at check in.

For future reference - it may be cheaper to book via hotel.com or Expedia.
