We have recently acquired dual citizenship and I am about to book the embassy appointment for the passport appointment.
Do both parents need to attend the appointment for the minor (under 18) and sign the paperwork in front of the embassy officials?
The passport is just for me and my son. I am still married to my son’s father but he does not have Austrian citizenship so he is ineligible (didn’t want to drip feed later) and so won’t be going to the embassy for his own appointment.
I'm filling out the paperwork and it says in very small print on the affidavit that the applicant’s signature must be made at the embassy and witnessed but I can’t find anything else to say that both parents need to be present at the appointment.
This is a bit of a niche question. Also - I have pestered the embassy many times over this application already that I’m a bit embarrassed to contact them again for some the ring that could be very obvious.
Anyone?
