Just watching season 2.

I can't imagine voting to risk my life again for money.

I know they have specifically targeted gamblers and people on the brink of financial ruin but even so?

i think a few might buy they’d be massively outnumbered .

I think in China there's a huge weight of brining shame on your family and being outcast and once you've risked your life once you want to get out with enough to make it 'worth it' and allow you to rebuild your life. Once you've won a couple I wonder whether they start feeling lucky or that it's a weakness to opt out.

But they selected people who were people who take chances. That's what all the bread/scatchcard stuff was about.

Most of them are in these bog old debts because they are gamblers who always think that the next time, it will be the big pay off.
