12 year old boy party ideas that aren’t gaming?

DS wants a birthday party this year. Usually we do an activity that we invite maybe 5/6 of his friends to.

I feel like I’ve done everything over the years!! Bowling, mini golf, climbing centre, laser tag.

I refuse to do video gaming stuff.

Any ideas?

For DS 12th birthday we did tubing at the local dry ski slope if you have anything like that near you?

Go Ape? Day at local theme park?

Is there a racing/ kart track near you? Racing was very popular with my dc.

What month is your DS birthday?
I took mine for a paddle bord and Nija/ gladiator water course session last summer. The boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Escape Room
Paintball

Did a high ropes thing that wasn't Go Ape once.

Took them to the cinema and food after one year.

Escape room was good.

Depends on numbers. We did skating one year but imo that's tough with more than about 4 kids.

Obviously depending on your budget, but what about something like this?
https://www.youngdriver.eu/lessons_and_experiences They have them all over the country and you have to be 10 or over. I think individual lessons are quite pricey but they do packages for groups.

Other than that, I’d suggest paintballing, kids archery, geocaching, Go Ape, a climbing wall, one of those things where they fly about in a wind tunnel with an instructor, something like that.

Falconry experience.

It depends on your budget. My 12 year old doesn’t have parties anymore just things he invites a couple of mates to like a local water park or go karting. Parties he’s been to recently have been go karting and paint balling.

could you do any of those? Water park went down well with mine

Scentedjasmin · 11/01/2025 22:31

Escape room
Karting
Kayaking/rafting
Swimming pools with big slides
Mountain biking
Restaurant/eating out with friends
Pizza and a movie night
Bus into town with friends and lunch out/poss cinema

Escape room has been a favourite with our son.
