I don't ready like football but I've become suddenly invested in this fa cup game. It's the advert for me and how those players must be feeling. What an opportunity! No real point to this but good luck to them!

Over 70 mins in and only let two goals through. They can be really proud of their performance 👏

mum2jakie · 11/01/2025 13:49

Ah shame. Third goal...

lostinthememory · 11/01/2025 13:55

Nice to see a lot of the kids getting a run out. I'm sure a lot of the commentary will be about Liverpool being 'bad' because they only scored three, but this is a really rotated team and they're taking it easy

There would be no glory for them absolutely thrashing a lower league team. 3-0 is OK for both sides. AS aren't giving up

mum2jakie · 11/01/2025 14:08

Well done both teams!

Glad Trent scored though.
I was at the United match last week and he was terrible and the crowd were really annoyed with him and you could hear it.
He needs to get his head straight so hopefully todays goal helps.

Hope so, I've got him in my FPL team.

Well done AS, I loved the advert too

TooBigForMyBoots · 11/01/2025 14:21

I was visiting the Somme battlefield some years ago and happened to be in the area where the Accrington Pals served. Someone had left an Accrington Stanley scarf in tribute. I do remember the milk ad, but it's the Pals I think of when I hear the team mentioned.

EXACTLY

Apparently, Kevin Spaine, who delivered the 'exactly' line is in jail for murder.

Mad, the twists some people's lives take.

Liverpool Echo says he delivered "Accrington Stanley? Who are they?" and the other lad replied "Exactly!".
