Kids wellies that last

DS has got holes on the sole of another pair of wellies - these weren't cheap, about £20-25 from Muddy Puddles. I even went to the cobbler but they'd cost £25 to repair so the hunt is on for new wellies!

I'd rather buy quality as he wears his wellies A LOT, every weekend without fail. I've been considering Bogs, Aigle... All very pricey but I don't mind so much if they last... Trying not to end up with another expensive mistake!

My kids have always worn Asda wellies. They wear them every day at nursery, for 2 years. Only ever get new if their feet grow!

BeansMeansBeans · 10/01/2025 12:54

Maybe I should return to supermarket wellies.. there's no Asda near me, I could try Tesco

All DS wellies come from Asda or Shoe Zone, less than £10.00 per pair and DS grows out of them before they fall apart or get holes in them.

I find this style lasts a lot longer

than this design which I find falls apart very quickly

You get free delivery from Shoe Zone and they also sell on Amazon.

BeansMeansBeans · 10/01/2025 13:05

Ah ok, that's good to know, the Asda ones are moot as he is size 13 with massive blooming feet!

My older DS is a size 13 and I got him a Spiderman pair, very similar to the Asda ones in Primark.

And these for school

Demar wellies they are on amazon super light, very tough and hard wearing and wool lined so keep feet warm.

So sounds like consensus is cheap is the way to go. I shall investigate some cheap, cheerful and hopefully tall options

I splurged on Hunter ones and they are amazing! DS loved them and is happy walking long distances in them. I don't think they cost much either - less than £30 on sale.

Flower35214 · 10/01/2025 13:14

Croc "kids handle it" wellies are a hit here.

BeansMeansBeans · 10/01/2025 13:16

@LittleRedRidingHoody that's interesting! I don't mind a splurge if it's worth it, because he does a lot of tramping around on them. I was considering hunter secondhand but was on the fence if it'd be worth it

Definitely worth it and I won't go back to cheaper now - I used to always buy cheap ones and you can really tell the difference. I imagine second hand would be fine too - I just love a shiny yellow pair and enjoy the 0.5 seconds DS wears them before they're covered in mud 😂
