Just saying.

Good to know

Freddie Starr ate my Hamster

OP is referring to the recent news that ( from memory) truss has sent an official letter to starmer asking him to dessit from saying she crashed the economy

OP ( correct in my opinion) thinks that truss did crash the economy- there were no global issues that caused it to tank overnight

squirrelnutcartel · 09/01/2025 12:44

You wouldn't trust her with a ten year old's pocket money. And she's less use than a supermarket lettuce.

Itcantgetanycolder · 09/01/2025 12:46

She did. But have you seen what the pound is worth today?

Lyannaa · 09/01/2025 12:47

Even the die hard conservative voters I knew hated Liz Truss as PM

midgetastic · 09/01/2025 12:48

Yes but in one case most experts think it was the actions of a single person and in the other case, the result of the world situation ( although you could I think make the case that Trump had crashed our economy or that the citizens of the USA who voted him in are to blame )

Panic actions now by the UK would likely do serious long term harm

Sometimes the world just sucks

Lyannaa · 09/01/2025 12:59

Well, the Uk prime minister has much more individual power than a US president.

Musk thinks he's clever but when Trump becomes tired of being upstaged by him, the two of them will fall out in spectacular fashion.

The UK economy is fundamentally structurally broken and any apparent "recoveries" are sticking plasters - arguably neither Liz Truss nor Rachel Reeves personally "broke the economy".

Lwrenn · 09/01/2025 13:23

the Lettuce would have done a superior job in comparison to Liz, but as someone who is politically homeless, I’d choose the lettuce to lead as opposed to most MPs.

If it wasn’t a snow day and my head wasn’t about to explode with my very bored children asking me questions every 2 seconds I would have tried to make a joke about lettuce (let us) romaine (remain) or even rocket in some awful mum joke way but I have nothing 😂

I agree. What would you prescribe to fix it?

HighlandsExpat · 10/01/2025 17:23

Liz Truss is absolutely bonkers.

She really just needs to go away - maybe stick to associating with neo-Nazis and white supremacists at US conservative conferences?

BooberFraggle · 10/01/2025 17:24

Pork markets. Just saying
