Herman Miller but they're a bit more than your budget. Worth every penny though.

This type of chair is worth considering- I got a John Lewis own brand for about half this much in the sale years ago. I have serious back issues but find this style so much better than the swivelly multi adjustable chairs.

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/nkuku-wamma-leather-desk-chair-dark-brown/p6372478?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

The IKEA Langfjall chair is good!

I would have a look at companies that specialise in re-selling second-hand office furniture.

Hermann Miller really are the gold standard of chairs. We have two and bought both second hand - one from a company who resells office furniture on EBay and one from a firm
who is local to us.

Much, much cheaper than buying new and you would not know they either were second hand. The firm near us sells other brands of chairs as well as HM.
