Has anyone ordered stuff from this company? Specifically the mould stuff - our bathroom needs something doing to it, but not sure if the reviews can be trusted.

Thanks!

I'll be honest I wasn't super impressed. Mould magic is okay on certain areas of mould (ceiling for example but didn't work on mould on grout in the bathroom)

The amount of emails after ordering is insane! I had to block them. The "elf tape" for hanging Christmas decorations was utterly crap, everything fell off and wasn't easy to use. I also ordered the simple seal for my bathroom - lo and behold it didn't stick it all. After a LOT of back of forth I managed to get a refund for the elf tape and they sent out more simple seal (which still didn't work!) but they made me feel a bit stupid, like it was my fault I wasn't using the products correctly? The "Nanas Secret" paste is also shit, just leaves a weird white residue and doesn't clean the oven like shown at all!

The simple seal didn't require any tools whatsoever according to the sales page but was told after by the customer service team it sticks better with a hairdryer (I don't own one)

Anyway - read the reviews on TrustPilot, lots of similar stories like mine. I won't be going back that's for sure! It was really pricey too, can get a lot of the products for much less elsewhere.

I can vouch for the mould magic, worked well on grouting etc. However, their warehouse is within walking distance of where I live and I still had to pay postage when I could’ve collected!

Same!! Pissed me right off especially as the warehouse looks like it also has a shop, went to have a look on Saturday, but it's just a warehouse. I had to get a McDonald's breakfast to get over it. The Mould Magic arrived yesterday. I must actually use it.

I got the draught tape thing to put over the doors and window frames. Works a treat. Was debating the mould stuff

Oh good, cos I just ordered that tape too! And the little drain unblocker you crank round and it Velcros horrible hair sausages out of your drain.

Things I've had from them that aren't all that: the white adhesive strip you use to neaten up the join between sink and splashback, or bathroom skirting - it doesn't adhere to tiles (more precisely, it doesn't stick to the grout lines because it's indented, so grot and water still get down there. It's also really hard to clean grot out of the 'fold'). The mould gel is ok but as others have said, not magic on mildewed silicone. You really need to cut it out and replace. I've had those orange rods you drop down your drain to stop blockages - useless.

With the recent high winds, we really noticed the difference inside!

BlackSheepThisYear · 08/01/2025 07:25

I didn't rate the mould magic but the company were great and refunded me under their guarantee. So worth a try as they are happy to refund if it doesn't meet expectations.

I have used this company. I thought the mould stuff was reasonably ok but a little underwhelmed to be honest. I also bought the broom and am also unimpressed with it. I tried the draft door sticky tape and had high hopes but haven't been able to get it to stick properly.

Haribosweets · 08/01/2025 16:42

Mould magic is brilliant and I tend to pop on and wipe off the next day. Just don't have a shower or use water near where you have applied. I too bought the broom and it is rubbish! I also bought a folding table and that was rubbish and fell apart as soon as you put something on it or tried to move it. Mould magic is the best thing they sell

I bought the draft tape and despite speaking with an online chat with them with clear instructions how to apply it keeps peeling away. I given up on that now

Quitelikeit · 08/01/2025 16:45

I used them once and wouldn’t again - I purchased these laundry paper things - to be used instead of powder - they were absolute rubbish, and you needed to use a few per each wash making them no more economical than powder

Hoppinggreen · 08/01/2025 16:47

HG Mould stuff from Amazon is brilliant

sammyspoon · 10/01/2025 09:25

I put the draught tape on our front door a couple of weeks ago and it's really effective. I'd say if long sections aren't sticking it might be worth using shorter sections pieced together. If it only stays up one winter it's still worth it. It's pretty cheap, easy to put up and has definitely made our hallway warmer.

BashfulClam · 10/01/2025 09:27

For silicon seals the best mould spray is HG. I have tried them all but this stuff is the bollocks. It may make your lungs bleed due to the fumes so be careful.

updownleftrightstart · 10/01/2025 09:31

I found the mould stuff rubbish for most things I used it on, but everything else I've ordered from there has been great.
Though I can't complain as the mould magic took a day longer for delivery than they said it would be so they refunded my order in full without me even asking.

UnhealthyCopingStrategies · 10/01/2025 13:19

Thanks for all the further input. I have the HG one already but didn't find it very good - unless you all leave it on much longer than the directed time either??

They promise delivery within 2 working days or the items are free. But be aware this doesn't apply to Northern Ireland. It takes 3 or 4 days for delivery.

I usually leave it overnight, no idea how long you are supposed to

They've honoured this once with me and it was a big order and immediately refunded but happened again and they didn't. I wish they wouldn't say they'll do it if they won't,that sort of thing pisses me right off!

Especially as it says in big letters on the site it's free. You have to trawl through the terms and conditions to see which postcodes are exempt.
