Drop to 3 days?

returned off maternity leave and used annual leave to have 2 days off until our new leave year. I love my days alone with my 2 little ones! I feel so sad about returning and adding a nursery day on for them :(

My partner said at my position (Civil service HEO) it’d be awkward to drop down more than one day my manager won’t be happy

i I don’t want to ask and potentially cause an issue

but I would really like to :(

Read the flexible working policy and draft the application form. there will be processes on place and it's a very common request.

They won't sack you for asking, its a right to work flexibly. When your there work hard be as flexible as you can to make it work. Go for it while you can.

Surely the workload would be reduced? I did exactly this in a similar role and went back full time when my kids went back to school. Don't be nervous don't feel bad, it's a job. These are you rights. If there's a business case not to they will say no.

My HEO is the only person doing her role in 3 counties. She dropped a day a fortnight last year and had no issues at all. This wasn't for child related reasons, but more a work/life balance.
