Is morning sickness as bad as metronidazole side effects?

I'm currently on metronidazole for the 2nd time in a few months due to a wisdom tooth infection and feeling rough as. I just want to go to sleep at my desk, I permanently feel really nauseous and the metallic taste is foul. We're going to be TTC soon and it's making me worry about how I'll cope with morning sickness. For those who've had both, did you find morning sickness as bad as metronidazole? This is vile!

I've had both. The antibiotic sickness and nausea feeling is very similar, yes. But there is no guarantee you'll have morning sickness - some of my friends had a few weeks of mild nausea and then were fine.

I had 32 weeks of daily extreme sickness, but true HG is fairly uncommon, lol. Didn't stop me having 3 children 😆

Don't let it put you off and good luck x

Sorry to hear you had HG. My friend had that and it sounds awful.

@CranberryHedgehog I really wouldn't worry too much. For most women morning sickness is fairly mild and can be staved off by regular snacking, drinking ginger ale etc.

My husband just reminded me I apparently complained about the antibiotic sickness a LOT more than the morning sickness, so maybe it was worse!!! 😆

This antibiotic doesn’t make me unwell and morning sickness wasn’t bad at all. I only had a few episodes of feeling unwell. It was the tiredness that wiped me out.

Thank you! Also you just reminded me of the wonders of ginger when I feel nauseous. I might have to pick some up today for the antibiotic nausea. Haha maybe we just forget how bad things are until someone reminds us. Mind you this is my 2nd round of antibiotics and I've definitely not forgotten how bad it was last time!

I'm glad you weren't unwell on it. It's a combination of the tiredness and the nausea that's doing it for me at the moment.
