How long does antibiotics take to kick in?

Chest infection and feeling rotten. Got antibiotics today, have taken 1 and will take another at 9. Realistically when will they make a difference, I feel so unwell

In my experience you start to feel a little better after 48 hours

At least 48 hours, at twice a day you will need to take 4 to start feeling better.

Day 3 I think is where you would expect to feel different. Are you sure it's one at a time or do you mean one dose?

You poor thing. I think it takes at least a full day, more likely two to notice a difference. Get well soon!

Maybe I'm unusual but I normally start to feel a bit better after just a day or two

Had this over Christmas and by day 3 had noticed a definite improvement

DH just had pneumonia and after 24 hours started feeling a bit better and from day 3 was noticeably better.
