Friend knows I’m posting*

My darling friend found out her husband was having an affair 6 months ago.

Currently going through a divorce and she will need to hand a chunk of her pension over every year because she out earns him! How the hell is that fair?

They are both high earners, over 6 figures but she considerably out earns him, I don’t know why I’m surprised as he clearly lacks of morals , but to go after her pension now?

Sadly true. Marital assets are 50:50 including pensions, unless you can get a good solicitor to get you better.

In many ways it’s not.

He broke their marriage vows, yet still benefits from the legal protections marriage affords.

It’s shit, from her perspective, but would have worked the other way round too.

Can he be persuaded to go quietly and leave her pension alone?

That's how marriage works. At its core, it's a financial arrangement. As such he's entitled to half in the event of divorce.

His cheating doesn't come into it.
