Is Barcelona cold in January ?

I'm heading there end of January.
I'm planning (or was ) planning on taking my leather jacket and layers.
So hoodies /sweatshirts and tee shirts
Will that be warm enough ?
Or am I best off taking my padded parka coat ?
I know it's around 14 degrees but with the sun it might feel a bit warmer

14 degrees will feel warmer in the sun, but bear in mind that if this is the average maximum temperature, there may be some days where it is warmer but other days where it is cooler. You are right that layers are the way to go. You are unlikely to need a big warm jacket in the day time but possibly you may need in the evening, particularly if you are sitting outside. I'm more familiar with southern Spain which is a couple of degrees warmer. I wear a thin puffer jacket in the evening, so it's quite possible you may need something a bit thicker, you could get that with extra layers but I'm not sure that a leather jacket would be warm enough. Do you have a lightweight padded jacket, one that folds into a pouch?

It can be warm during the day and chillibat night, I would take a lightweight puffa and gloves and a warm scarf for evenings.
