Best mattress for cosleeping

Hi there,

any recommendations for good mattresses for cosleeping?
mine is old and I’ve got bulging discs so it’s really not doing me any favours, neither is sleeping with a 2 year old but I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

I’ve seen a silentnight miracoil which looks like it might be good but it’s extra firm. Is that too hard for a toddler?
No idea if I need soft/ medium/ hard etc but just assumed firm would be good for my back but worried extra firm is too hard for the little one.

I don’t think memory foam is good for us but I have no clue so will take suggestions. I don’t have a huge budget either unfortunately- up to £500. Thank you!

Extra firm is better for you and for cosleeping too! Safer, just like in a cot.

Thank you so much @edgeware thats really helpful advice. I do feel bad because we have been sharing on an old mattress for a while but will get the one I had my eye on. My back can’t take it anymore!
