Am only the only one struck by inertia in this cold

As title really . I had plans yesterday to get out in the garden today tidying up pots ready for spring planting .
What have I done , woken up in the bitter cold , dogs did a wee and shot back in , put the heating on and sat on the sofa , reading , tv on in the background with the total sum of my movement being to the kettle and back .

Anyone else hate this cold .

Sounds a perfect day . Sometimes we go against nature and try to push on but the cold dark weather means rest and hibernation! I’ve walked the dog and now plan on doing something quite similar. Oh I’ve cooked a roast chicken and mash to warm up. I’m definitely learning to embrace January and the cold it brings ❤️

Cold and bright is, for me, preferable to mild and grey which is what winter so often is in the UK. But cold and grey is far worse than cold and bright, I agree.

I had lots of plans for today (inside mainly) but the cold and grey has made me sluggish. So I’m on the sofa with a book and a cuppa. It’s strange, might be end of holiday blues as it’s been grey all December and I was quite motivated then.
If it properly snows I will probably perk up though, the kids want to make a snowman.

I dread to think how I'd get on in a scandi type country with minimal daylight and constant snow . Actually I wouldn't be able to live there .

I'm definitely a light / warmth person

Only when I sit on the sofa with my heated blanket and a hot cup of tea! Otherwise, no, Im not great at sitting still 😂

I try and get out in the garden at least once a day but today, it's cold and wet and miserable so I've brought some clay up into the front room and I'm going to make some small clay items and watch the telly box, the woodburner is lit already. The cat has taken my usual sofa spot and I haven't the heart to disturb him.

I don't blame you for staying indoors OP.

I was going to park run this morning but at 7.30am it was -5 and the ground was rock hard, so I filled the bird feeders, made a pot of coffee and went back to bed. I'll run later in the week.

I've done my week's food shop, a bit of online banking, made lunch and now I'm going to make some bread, and more mince pies for ds.

But gardening, log splitting, running etc can wait. I'm not built for ice 😊

I have forced myself out and am shuffling round the shops cursing the cold weather, so don't be me!

I don’t know where the perfect place, temperature-wise, would be for me. Like you, op, I shrivel up in the cold, but can’t stand the heat (let’s say +26 degrees) either. I want a year-round temperate climate with no extremes! I could probably manage the odd 28/29 degree heatwave!

My afternoon has been TV, books, computer and the kettle. Heating is on!
I had a hair appointment first thing, I did not want to leave the house and the salon was freezing I was the first customer for the day.
I don't think I'd survive somewhere where I'd have less light than we have and the weather needs shovelling.
