Joining myself to a group with myself on Whatsapp - done it before, now cant do it

I have a 'group' whatsapp on whatsapp with myself, so I can message myself things I need to remember
Its a group, not a 'chat' on its own

I wanted to do another one with a different title, but somehow have messed this up and just have a 'chat' with myself but for some reason my name isnt the same as on the group even though it also says 'you' in brackets

Whether I try to do it on the whatsapp laptop app or on my phone I cant seem to make a group with myself, I dont come up in my contacts, and yet Im clearly there because Im chatting with myself since yesterday?

Any ideas?

This sounds incredibly complicated, why not just use the notes app?

Add someone else and then remove them

When I start a new group I can create a new contact if the one I'm searching for isn't there - can you just do that? A new contact of yourself called Me2 (or whatever you want!)?

I just use Notes, and dictate my messages into it. I just use the same Note each time I want to add something else. Easy!

Because my whatsapp is open all the time and I use a laptop most of the time but also need it on my phone. I wont remember to look at something else

If I go to start a new chat on WhatsApp it gives me the option to message myself

Because I want to give it a name so I know what chat Im on, you cant do that in a chat

So you're doing a different chat for every topic you want to message yourself about?

Well this is the first one that is a 'topic'. I already had one thats just to remind myself of things/lists/links to remember but I just couldnt remember how I had set the thing up as a group rather than just messaging myself
