What is everyone's favourite places to visit in the UK?
This year we have 2 nights in Dorset so we can visit Lulworth Cove, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door.
We are also going camping near Stonehenge and also near Deal, will visit Broadstairs when there I think.
We also love Cornwall.
Last year we went to Bath and we also love Stratford Upon Avon.
Anyone else got any UK trips/ visits/ days out planned?

Scotland really surprised me. The highlands are stunning and we had amazing weather which helped! I love Alchmelvich, has a gorgeous beach and the Torridon area is more for walking, very atmospheric and beautiful.

If you fancy an adventure this place is a 2 day walk (stay at a bothy in the middle), then get a ferry back… most remote pub in the UK… g.co/kgs/qYrySjy

Scotland is amazing, one of my favourite places on earth, particularly Mull.

Snowdonia
The new forest
Dorset Jurassic coastline area

Another saying Ach Melvich and the far north west coast, absolutely stunning.

Also the fishing villages down the east coast of Scotland. Gorgeous.

Bourton-on-the-Water. I worked there for a bit and it was just gorgeous with all the little bridges over the Windrush. And the drive down into Chipping Campden where you come down the hill and see all the thatched cottages is lovely too.

Duckpool in Cornwall - we went in September and the beach was practically deserted. The kids manged to catch fish in the rock pools - it was amazing.

I haven’t been to all the Scottish islands but I love all the ones I’ve visited. Each has its own special charm. Harris is absolutely stunning. Mull is spectacular and much easier to get to. Iona is very atmospheric. Skye is like Scotland in miniature. Islay is a bit bleaker but fascinating.
I could go on and on.
I love both Edinburgh and London too - as a complete contrast

Hawkerslife · 03/01/2025 18:11

Scotland - it's stunning
North Walea is also gorgeous

I'm visiting the lake district this summer for the first time so looking forward to that.

I'm local to the New Forest so I feel like it's a bit overrated. To me, it's like one big bog.

The summer ds was born, he and I walked the ridgeway from the Thames to Avebury. Well, I walked it and he came along in a sling. It was blissful. I used to feed him, sitting on a rug in the sunshine, beside a cornfield, watching combine harvesters and swallows.

A magical place. 😊

thescentoflillies · 03/01/2025 18:23

Northumberland is great - Hadrian's wall and Roman remains; countryside; plenty of castles, and beautiful beaches.

YogaLite · 03/01/2025 18:30

Gower, especially Rhossili
Devon South Hams
SW coast path

quiteathome · 03/01/2025 18:32

North Devon coast, Scotland, Pembrokeshire, Skomer Island. Northumberland Whitby. Jurassic coast in Dorset.

Lake District (especially Ambleside)
North Wales

lightsandtunnels · 03/01/2025 18:41

The Isle of Wight. We're off to stay in Ventnor next week. It's such a beautiful island and it's like going back in time. Fabulous places to visit like Cowes, Shanklin, Osborne House and the scenery is breathtaking. Great places to eat too!

Onand · 03/01/2025 18:41

Cornwall. Unbeatable year round.

Yuja · 03/01/2025 18:42

Teesdale and Durham

weebarra · 03/01/2025 18:42

I love Easter Ross in the Highlands of Scotland but am perhaps biased as my PILs live there.
Also the beaches of East Lothian and Northumberland!

I try and swim in Lulworth Cove two to three times a week

Northern Ireland especially the Antrim Coast is a favourite, I would like to take 6 months off and do the islands of Scotland

DilemmaDelilah · 03/01/2025 19:08

Bude in Cornwall, and the area around the Devil's punchbowl in Surrey (I think... it's the Surrey/Hampshire border)

Bizarred · 03/01/2025 19:17

The North Yorkshire coastline. From Scarborough Castle down to Bempton - just incredibly beautiful.

stockpilingallthecheese · 03/01/2025 19:53

Norfolk. Wells next the sea and Holkham beach is the most stunning place. Winterton dunes and Horsey for the seals. Love it so much!
