I ordered online in December. It was the middle of December. Online said I would get a delivery by the 23 of Dec. But I didn't get an delivery. The tracking information never updated since the label was created and there is still no update to the tracking and still no delivery.

I got in touch with the shop I ordered from a demanded a refund to be issued by the end of today for non delivery or I will start a chargeback with the bank.

I got a reply telling me a refund has been issues and they said it takes 3-7 working days for the refund to appear in your account.

Surely that's too long of a timeframe for a refund to be issued. I am just wondering if that is just another piss take to delay a refund for non delivery.

I know my wages are often done on a Tuesday or Wednesday and I get them in my account on the Thursday or Friday. Thats a 2/3 days processing time.

Still today there's no update to the tracking. There is nothing from them.

3-7 working days is standard.

It's a standard refund time. It's the bank processing time. Unfortunately.

Completely normal refund timescale. It's usually quicker.

It’s pretty standard i’d have thought. Also, the retailer (certainly at the store/ customer services level) have no control over the length of time a refund would take to be processed
once they’ve activated a refund.

it doesn’t usually take as long as they say, so hopefully you will get it sooner.

It takes a lot longer to go back in than it does coming out. It’s standard across the board.

Standard time frame for refunds

Oldenpeculiar · 03/01/2025 11:43

It's the bank processing times that cause the delay, bank holidays and weekends factor in because it's counted in working days.
Once the retailer has issued a refund it's then out of their hands. It's usually faster than they quote though.
I've no idea why it's instant one way and not the other, but there must be a reason somewhere along the line.

3-7 days is a standard refund time I think.
