terrified of dentist

I'm parked outside the dentist. I got here early, which probably wasn't wise as it's given me time to think. My hands are shaking slightly so
it's hard to type this. I'm so nervous. I do attend appointments but am shit scared every time. Today I'm in for a back molar crown prep. I have an awful gag reflex and i'm more scared
of that than the injections/drill.
I cancelled my last appointment because i was scared but can't cancel
again. It's going to be ok, isn't it?

Absolutely!

Believe me, there used to be nobody worse than I was but if you find the right dentist who understands your fears and works with you then there is no going back. I don't mind going at all now!
You can definitely do this and just think how great your newly crowned tooth will look and feel.👍

Please post back and let us know how it went.

You will be fine, concentrate on your breathing and try to relax. They will do it a bit at a time.

will do, thank you.
Appointment is at 12pm. Dentist isn't the most compassionate but she's NHS and beggars can't be choosers 🤣

it's done. I was shaking throughout, but it got better and the dental nurse was lovely. Gag reflex kicked in a couple of times but not that bad.
Exhale....

Yes, good for you. Have a calm afternoon.

I have to book for a crown to be replaced. Not the kind of leave I want to be booking off work :(
