Still up enjoying new year. Have watched BBC Scotland skippinish were amazing. Surprised to hear Marti pellows accent he's obviously ditched the American/UK accent for NY.

Sophie ellis bextor was fabulous on her show. You could tell she was out of shape but did herself proud (hope she's OK and isn't a smoker with copd)

London fireworks were fantastic. Hope prevails. In these times that are none stop.

The live New York on YouTube is absolutely shocking really bad. Poor Sophie couldn't see or hear her.

Have facetime family/friends and sent auld lang sing to friends in other countries.

Just clearing up and had a ball! Thanks for the heads up for skippish- had them on earlier on Spotify.
The heavens have opened and not stopped all night.
The young adults have been out with mates but gravitated home for Sing star and dancing

I'm up.
Went to bed at 9pm, woken by the fireworks at 12 so came down to wish dh and dd happy new year.
Up at 340am for breakfast as I have to bike to work at 5am.
There's rain and 50+ mph gusts out there. Let's cross fingers for a back wind!

Just to add. How much has people paid to stand out in times square it's absolutely rubbish, really flat no atmosphere and bad production of acts. Plus why is there such a long time before acts and a lot of acts that the world has never heard of.

It’s 5:30 here, so I’m just about to go for my usual morning run, I’ve been awake for ages as we’ve gone away for new year and I never sleep well in a new place.

@SnoopySantaPaws would you believe my absolutely important job that means I only get Christmas Day off every year, is to pack frozen fish products.
Office and managers all get two weeks off.
One of the managers came back in Monday and admitted there was no commercial reason for us to be in New years eve/day.
We will all have been woken at midnight. Thankfully it's only a 6 hr shift today.
My bike ride is just short of 5 miles, done it for years!

I'm not in Scotland at the moment but all my family are. mum has gone to nethybridge for the ceilidh with cousins and aunts.
The rain just hasn't stopped though so doesn't surprise me the Spey has burst

What a small world. I am not that far away from Nethy. Parts of the A9 were closed today by the police due to flooding its bad not seen it like this before. You will know well the farming up here and all fields are many feet under water. Still to listen to Pete and desil. Worried about a cold spell because it's nuts weather other week was minus 10 which was to cold to soon and snow stopped all movement. If a cold spell comes then thaws quickly after mayhem on roads etc then flooding will be so much worse.

Oh my God, packing frozen fish. I'm vegetarian it would be a nightmare for me, let alone by bike in the middle of the night.

5 miles is ok, depending on the terrain! In the daylight in summer, I honestly couldn't do what you're doing.

Still watching New York really poor show.

Still up here - its just gone 6.30am (Norway) so we'll all be having a sleep in! Big family party which was gorgeous, and didn't end until about 1am. DH and I turned in and binge watched Psychoville for a while and polished off the cheeseboard with a pot of some really nice Bird & Blend tea. Then the DC both wanted snuggles just as we started to drift - they're 5 and 8 so it's been a while since we've all piled in together. Couldn't say no!

Snuggled down now and expecting it to be a very late rising morning. Both kids were up until late and me and DH are officially (happily!) knackered!

I'm actually genuinely amazed that anybody is " enjoying " 2025, or that anyone expects to enjoy it.
I can only assume anyone who thinks 2025 will be a " happy" or " prosperous " new year must live an extremely privileged life style in a cocoon not touched by the reality that the vast majority of the world experience.

@GiddyRobin sounds like you had a lovely evening.

@Nothingisrealisit please seek help from your gp. You sound incredibly depressed and riddled with anxiety. How do you know what people have going on in there lifes? Baffled by how small minded you are. So according to you we have all to sit just worrying about the state of the world and not think about or do anything else. That's good for people's mental health is it? Honestly have a word with yourself. I hope in 2025 you find inner peace, happiness and find joy in life.
