Can a shower like this be changed with minimal disruption or does the wall need to come down? Ours needs replacing but would be good if we could just get a new one and get a plumber to swap it over rather than anything too invasive!!

Minimal disruption (assuming no leaks). The water pipes stick out a bit from the wall and the plumber (or even you!) can attach a new shower riser.

The only potential difficulty would be if the new shower riser doesn't match the exact same dimensions of the existing ones, so you'd have to choose carefully.
