How long are passports taking atm?

Has anyone had a new passport recently and can tell me how long it is taking?

Very quick! About a week!

Had my renewed. Sent application on thr Friday, arrived back following Thursday.

The Passport expired 4 years ago so unsure if it changes anything,
We did the application today and sent off the old passport on tracked 24.

Sent dds a few weeks ago. Took 8 days to get to passport office via 24hr tracked. Still no sign of passport 21 days on. So hit and miss I think.

I got DS passport in less than a week, a few weeks before christmas

That's not good, I have possibly of a weekend away on the 11th though I can push it back if the passport doesn't come.

Seems it very much depends on which part of the country you're in.

Newport seems to take ages!

I renewed my son’s recently and it took a week. There’s a FB page that tracks current average times for passport issuing and it’s saying 6 days at the moment

Did mine a couple of months ago and it took 6 days from online submission to receive it back. I was stunned how quickly it was done. So much easier to do online rather than manually and via post office.

I renewed DD’s in December. It took less than a week from submitting the application to landing on the doorstep. Very impressed!

We renewed my husbands and it took less than a week at the start of December. Filled out form on line, posted the old one and new one came back. Very quick.

Longest part of my most recent renewal was the 8 days it took for Tracked 24 to deliver my old passport. Everything else was super quick.

6 days just before Christmas. I was amazed at how quick. Mine was 8 years out of date, partners was 4 years out of date.

I felt aggrieved that DS previous passport didn't run out until September 2025, but he's going on a school trip in April (and there would be less than 6 months remaining) and they needed his passport details

Posted docs on Wednesday, acknowledgement receipt via text 4pm Friday, texted again 10am Monday to say it was being printed, delivered by royal mail on Wednesday.

This was a replacement child passport, a few weeks ago.

I'm in Germany and applied for a renewal of a child's passport who was born in UK. Took a week and a half, very impressed.

The Royal Mail tracking says the old passport was delivered today, so hopefully won't be too long after that.

Ironically I'm in south wales but had to send passport England

Just got mine, 8 days in total, new one printed the day after they received my old one.

@Frangywangywoowah what do you mean? I'm about to start my renewal process online and need it for the end of February.

I'm in Swansea - wouldn't mine be going to the Newport office?
