Why is renewing anything such a piss take cost wise?

Just renewed breakdown cover. Quote was over £400 so chatted to an agent online. They immediately offered £200. Then when I said I’d looked at a competitor that magically came down to £140!

£260 cheaper after a 10 minute chat! Really annoyed the renewal is such a rip off and really shows you should never just accept a renewal quote!

On-line booking is their preferred method, price and easy money for them. Talking to a human challenges that and forces them to engage.

Last year I booked our summer holiday through an old fashioned walk-in travel agent, and that was less expensive too. And a lot less hassle.😊

I’ve started to shop around a month or so before. Get my best price, then call up the current provider. Ask them straight away, l have been quoted £XX by XXX, can you beat it?
