What is your favourite UK holiday destination?

Looking for inspiration! We have an elderly dog and have decided that this year we don't want to leave him with family when we go away and will holiday in the UK so he can join us. We've taken him away a lot and usually end up going to Northumberland because we all love it there but as we'll be adding another UK trip this year I thought we should probably try somewhere else. We like less touristy areas, quite rural, nice walks. I like the coast but I'm not against somewhere inland for a change. Anybody got any suggestions?

North Devon or the Scottish Highlands.

Aberdeenshire and the Moray Coast are beautiful. Lots of fabulous beaches and rolling farmland leading to the hills and mountains of the Cairngorms.

The Solway Coast in Dumfriesshire is another underrated little gem.

I see LOTS of people walking their dogs along the front at Sheringham.

DH enjoys walking along the Norfolk coastal path. There are lots of pretty villages to discover.

We holiday in UK every year with dogs. We either go to Northumberland or Dumfries.
Dumfries is amazing for Forrest walks, well sign posted and a choice of short walks or long walks from the same starting point. Beaches tend to be quiet as do the roads.

Cornwall is beautiful and the lake district of course .

Tenby. It's a long drive, but it's lush.

If you don't mind a ferry, Northern Ireland would tick your boxes.
