Homeless guy...

There is a homeless guy sleeping in his car outside our home.
He has been there a couple of weeks.

He spoke to us today, said he has recently split from his wife, has a job, just no home.
He said he knows our neighbour, who has said he can sleep on his allocated parking space. (We all have a space each)

Feel so sorry for him today, being Christmas Eve, it's cold, he's on his own.
I keep wondering whether to take a cuppa and a mince pie out there for him.
Although if he has a job, I know he probably has food.

DH Says not to as he might want feeding and watering every day and might start knocking on the door etc

DH is also getting a bit annoyed with him sleeping outside as he has seen him having a wee up the alley next to the house a few times and someone else also told us, he has been pooing down there!! (There is tissue there, which is pretty grim!!)

What would you do?
Is there anyway to help the guy without feeding and watering him etc?

Thanks everyone, I didn't really know who to contact, but have just looked up the street link as suggested. I think that's probably the best bet going forward.
As far as I know, no hostels near by.

He seemed like a genuinely nice person but you never know and I don't want to put myself at any risk.

Can't really have him staying out there another month at least though..

Street Link is the best option. They will come out to check hes ok and sign post him to local homeless shelters etc
