The assistant was putting Easter Eggs on an end of aisle shelf!

@JM88Jen yes but if the Christmas stuff is sold they've gotta fill the shelves with something. Can't possibly wait until after Christmas 😂

Yeah. I'm being sarcastic. I think it's disgusting.

I'm just happy that now that I no longer work nights in homeless hostels I get to have Christmas at home. There's a lot of people out there who have no choice to work all night/week, who are going to get a lot of shit thrown at them too.

Apologies I thought you were being serious... happy Christmas.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 24/12/2024 19:06

I stacked shelves as a student 30 years ago and did have to put Easter eggs out on Christmas eve at the end of my shift.

socks1107 · 24/12/2024 19:11

I saw them being brought into our local shop last week ready for Boxing Day!

Melodyfair · 24/12/2024 19:21

I could just go an Easter egg (pushes the tin of quality street with only the toffee pennies left off the sofa!)

RhaenysRocks · 24/12/2024 19:49

I hate this. It's so joyless. If people do pop in on Christmas Eve or Boxing day, even the 27th the might buy extra crackers / mince pies / tubs of chocolate and it's nice to still have the music and signs up. It's so depressing to see it all half stripped out and replaced with pastel spring stuff.

Viviennemary · 24/12/2024 19:50

It's a whole shop full,of tat. But I like it.

Theunamedcat · 24/12/2024 19:50

Cream eggs have been on sale for weeks in the west Midlands

NImumconfused · 24/12/2024 19:52

Yep, creme eggs have appeared here too! (Also I just found a five years out of date packet on mini eggs in my cupboard when I was rescuing the chocolate oranges - no idea how those missed getting eaten!).

Cece92 · 24/12/2024 19:55

I went into Tesco at around 4.15 as my DD wanted to get her wee brother an extra gift and they had taken all Xmas pjs and clothing away, and people were packing all the stuff 😂😂😂 the shop was still absolutely heaving aswell xxxx

UmopapIsdn · 24/12/2024 20:00

I’d definitely have bought a small egg as a stocking filler just to befuddle my kids! Grin

JetskiSkyJumper · 24/12/2024 20:40

My dd has mini eggs in her stocking from b&m 😬

StMarie4me · 25/12/2024 00:28

JM88Jen · 24/12/2024 17:06

I went earlier for a little walk and fresh air (the kids have been wild with excitement all day and I just needed some batteries I had forgotten)

Thought I would have a browse down the Christmas aisle see if anything else could be added to stockings etc and that whole lot of shelving as full of storage boxes 🙈🙈🙈

Why on earth would they want Christmas stock left on 23rd December? Unsold stock is a waste of space and very costly.

IKnowAPlace · 25/12/2024 00:32

I definitely saw a creme egg last week!

GCAcademic · 25/12/2024 00:34

Easter is really late next year, as well. Four months away!

catphone · 25/12/2024 00:37

It soils the holidays when they start bringing it all out months early. I’m getting whiplash from how fast the holidays change
