Anyone know if supermarkets will be quieter around 5/6pm.

Car has gone in for repair, needs to be kept overnight.

To make it easier on myself, just wondering whether to get a bag or two of food on the way back from my BIL's later and I can get the rest early tomorrow morning. Don't need to do an absolutely massive shop like many, but the shop will be a bit heavy to carry back up the hill.

Rather not take DH as he'll be sent home to start tea this evening and I'll never get him up at 6-7am tomorrow😆.

I don't need a great deal but I'm going later on, I've just finished a looong week at work and I needed a day to myself, could not face lots of people and the stress of everyone else being stressy early doors.
I know I'm running the risk of not getting stuff but there's only a few bits I need for Christmas the rest is regular stuff I buy every week. I'm hoping it won't be as manic.
Heading off for a long dog walk which I hope will be quiet because everyone else is shopping!

It probably will be but there might be shortages if the shelves have stripped.

I mean I’d give it a go!
dd and I just went to Waitrose, plenty of stuff, everything we needed.
You’ll get a lot of the post work rush this evening but you might as well get what you can.

I’ve just been to Morrisons for some lunch bits (have done my big shop) and it was quieter now than it was this morning when I went to M and S.
They are on same site and share a car park.

I think it will be very shop and area dependent after my experience this morning:
5am - large Tesco supermarket - rammed and the car park was full when I left at 630am.
8am local Aldi - in and out in 5 mins but I was only getting a few bits Tesco didn't have. I excepted Aldi to be busier as it only opened at 7am and got good Christmas deals.
