I have a few goals I thought I’d share, not extensive as I haven’t thought about it enough

I want to learn a bit about gardening and hopefully growing some veg. I bought a few plants earlier this year but it was random and I don’t know anything about them.
Hopefully improve my baking/cooking skills
And I want to learn to watercolour

I remember there being a circle chart thing you divide into different aspects of your life eg
Family
Work
Friendships
Health
Leisure
Spiritually
Money
Home

You score these 1-10 then colour in the segments of your circle. The ones with a lot missing are what to focus in next year.

I want to obviously lose weight! Get fitter. Go to the gym more. Have better control over my finances. Save more. Do up house. Spend quality time with the DCs. Achieve some career goals.

Tbh it's pretty much the same every single year.

Move house.
Lose weight and increase my fitness.
Get a dog.

Our dog died in the Summer and I’m not getting the brisk long walks twice daily which I enjoyed with him. I know I could walk anyway but I didn’t want to see anyone I’d normally see on walks and have to explain why I was alone. I’ve lost all motivation anyway.

Move house lose weight stop spending money on to much takeout 😩

LittleRedRidingHoody · 23/12/2024 05:20

Start seeing a therapist

Get my dress sense shit together - lost a tonne of weight in 2024 (that was last year's resolution 😉) but keep buying things that fit for the sake of it. Need to stop doing that and figure out what actually looks good on me and stick to it

Build more/stronger friendships

Read more books/scroll on phone less

Build a stunning, aesthetically pleasing herb garden (with my 0 gardening experience - will see how that goes!)

Pass my driving test in January
Buy a car
Lose 6 stone

Those are the main goals. I have little 'side quests' like read 25 books, do a low buy few months to rid myself of a lot of my consumerist mindless spending habits and really figure out my personal style.

How are you going to achieve all that? It would be amazing if you did. I once set a goal to read a few books but I barely have the attention span to read more than a few pages at a time

Declutter the study
Go through the larder cupboard and toss every single out of date item
Toss Check items in bottom of chest freezer
Feed the birds regularly
Donate books

@catphone I've lost four stone this year in 6 months so just continuing on from that really.

I read 30 books this year but I have a young baby now so I feel like 25 is more achievable this year 🤞

Test is late January so hoping I pass first time but if I don't I'll just book another test and hope for the best!

isthesolution · 25/12/2024 21:41

See more of friends

That’s really impressive

Regular sleep pattern, so a reasonable bed time every night and no going to bed hours later on weekends for no reason. It really impacts my daily life if I don’t have a regular pattern and I really want to make an effort this year.

Cattenberg · 02/01/2025 00:04

Lose weight - I’ve already lost a bit in December due to flu, so that’s a start!

Get counselling to help me develop coping strategies regarding a sad and stressful family situation.

Improve my Spanish.

Take a career-related course, perhaps one of the government skills bootcamps.
