Will this pork be okay to eat ?

I bought some pork steaks on Tuesday.
Dated 26th December
I froze them straight away as I thought I wouldn't eat them all in time
I defrosted 2 on Friday night and stored in the fridge.
Will they still be okay to cook for a Sunday lunch ?

I always thought it was 24 hours max you had to cook defrosted items

I use my judgement on that. Considering that if you hadn't frozen them, they would have been good for 4 or 5 more days still, I expect them to be fine.

Also, my turkey will take more like 3 days to defrost, so it can't be a hard and fast 24 hour rule.

If you had frozen them on the Use By date, I would definitely have stuck to 24 hours, or been more wary.
