How much alcohol to take to NYE party?

Local friends have invited us to theirs for NYE. From 6pm until late and there will be quite a few people there. They have said they will provide the food and to just bring drinks. They are not big drinkers but dh and I do like a drink on NYE. It will be dh and I plus our 2 teens - 16yo and 17yo - and I’m sure they will want some prosecco.

I could easily get through 2 bottles in 6 + hours. And I’m sure dh could as well. The worse thing would be if we ran out and started sponging off others. But would we look ridiculous turning up with loads?

Any thoughts on the etiquette here? Seems like such a silly question

I’d take whatever you could all drink and then add another bottle. So 5 bottles of Prosecco, but in that case I’d just buy a box of six and take that.

Bring enough for your own consumption plus a bit to share. If you think you will easily finish off 4 bottles, I would bring 5.

Just use a box or one of those handy wine carrier bags.

Six is early and there four in your family so 4-6 bottles is what I’d go for
