You know the type of thing - always knocking about and in the way until you need the bloody thing.

Today for me it's the radiator key. I have at least 2. Can I find either of them?

My 5m rule.. I know I've got one, need it now and don't want to buy a new one just in case it turns up

In November I very sensibly bought sellotape for gift wrapping. I bought several. Where the fuck are they now?! Having to use the half a roll left in dd’s pencil case.

(I’ll find them in June won’t I?!)

Both are on a key ring hung in a cupboard.

They're in the drawer of 'stuff' in the kitchen, surely? Isn't that where everything is?

I'd be looking with spare batteries, with random old leads/chargers (that you know full well don't work with anything but you keep just in case), with birthday candles, with the emergency screwdriver (the one you keep to hand so you don't need to go to the garage for one) and with the box of spare/old keys that you're not quite sure what they're for.

I've looked in all my "drawers of shit"! But you're all right - I'm bound to find it later this afternoon because I've just caved and bought a new one!

Hair bands. I have loads of them but whenever I need one to put my hair up for the gym I can't find one.

I bought a load of scissors on amazon as they were doing a special. I think it was about 6 pairs.

I still can't find a pair of scissors when I need them.

Maybe I need another 6 pairs.

Nail clippers and tweezers for me.

biros, there’s dozens in the house but I can never find one when I need it. Ditto scissors, few pairs but alway hiding somewhere. Matches, never find the big box when I want to light my candles.

Scissors always seem to go walkabout as they're used for so many different things

Last year we had a lot of work done to our house. There was a huge amount of disruption, with stuff being bundled up into boxes and moved around. The number of things that we know we have but cannot find are legion.

DH had a big jar full of ear plugs. We both saw them amidst the chaos, can we find them now?

Emery boards - I keep buying packets of them - my cat keeps dragging them off for nefarious purposes of her own... 😼
