Surpsise top up on British has smart meter

This morning I noticed my smart meter fory electric say "top up successful". I checked it and I've been credited with £150. We checked the app that we normally use to top up and it just says electricity top up. I haven't done it, husband hasn't done it. I can't imagine someone else has done it in error due to the unique codes needed etc. where has it come from? Is it from British gas?? After a quick Google I can't find much info. Anyone else had a surprise top up? Do I call them and find out?

Are u on certain benefits? UC? there is a payment of 150 pounds for families on low income and meet criteria of their home being difficult to Hest (can't remember the proper term)

We get a small UC top up. But the account is in my partners name and he's classed as full time working so I'm not sure 🤔 our home wouldn't be classed as hard to heat, it's not that old or big etc

That's really helpful thank you. We never applied so I'm guessing they somehow knew/thought we would be eligible. Mind blowing but so grateful.
