Is my airfryer ruined?

I put a pasta bake in for lunch. It said it could go in the oven and I should pierce the plastic cover. I did that and carried on what I was doing outside the kitchen. Came back and there's no cover on the pasta. It's obviously been pulled up to the element somehow!

I've cleaned it off as best I can with vinegar and heating up gently. Am I going to poison us all by using it again?

I'd be concerned with plastic having gotten to the heating element it could be a fire hazard for future use.
Hopefully you get it cleaned up and salvage your air fryer.

I don't know but I once managed to melt ours and we had to buy a new one!

How did you manage to melt it?

It's likely to smoke and burn it off. I would put it on a few times in a well ventilated room. When it stops smelling it's probably OK.

Put it too close to the oven vents when the oven was on and melted all the plastic at the back.
