Picked some up in Sainsbury's today. Use by date 25th December.

It feels official now that Christmas milk is in the shops.

I buy the filtered milk that lasts for weeks. No milk panics!

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 16/12/2024 07:22

I have milk delivered to the door. My milkman will leave a double order on Mon 23rd
Easy!

It's not the actual milk. It's the fact you can now buy fresh milk in the shops that will last til Xmas. It's a sign of how close Xmas is 🎉🎄🤩😬

ThePoshUns · 16/12/2024 07:26

Does it have glitter in it?

Thislittlekitten · 16/12/2024 07:27

@HelloVeritas Not yet but it also fills me with great excitement when I see it!!

Damnloginpopup · 16/12/2024 07:30

Mine goes bad on Christmas Eve 😭 I'll have to wear my scarf and meet a gallant handsome and somehow single man on the street to help me and kiss me passionately and invite me to his family dinner when my car breaks down in the snow.

Or I could buy some at Asda before then I suppose but who doesn't want to be a Christmas move plotline cliché?

Joiedepotato · 16/12/2024 07:55

We have filtered milk for various lactose intolerance reasons, I just bought 2025 milk yesterday, exciting times indeed!

HippyChickMama · 16/12/2024 07:56

I read the thread title and thought it was about Bailey's! I once saw it referred to as Christmas milk on MN and now always think of it as that

helpfulperson · 16/12/2024 08:59

I know what you mean. Milk doesn't last long and that means it's not long until Christmas.

JiminaSlump · 16/12/2024 09:50

Just to clarify: this ISN'T a thread about Bailey's?

Because I do have that.

BourbonsAreOverated · 16/12/2024 09:52

Mines the 24th

so near

Yes , I understood that thanks!

longtompot · 16/12/2024 16:36

I did think could this be about Baileys too @JiminaSlump I have two bottles in as they were only £10 each for a litre. Be rude not to imo😬

The bottle I've almost finished has a use by date of 1st Jan! It is filtered milk though.

SoupDragon · 16/12/2024 16:47

I got 26th this morning. Christmas is over.

slightlydistrac · 16/12/2024 16:56

Just looked in the fridge at the milk I bought yesterday.

It's dated the 27th.

Madickenxx · 16/12/2024 17:02

I'm going to assume this is about Baileys as no matter what the expiry date, no actual milk I buy now will last until Xmas. I have a bottle of Baileys in my food delivery on Friday and also some left over from last year. Pretty sure I have some hotel chocolat stuff lurking as well but not sure if there's an expiry date on these things.

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/12/2024 17:04

Never knew there was Christmas milk 😆

Davros · 16/12/2024 17:05

You can freeze milk. I only use skimmed, it lasts ages

I forgot Bailey's.

Heylittlesongbird · 16/12/2024 17:09

I hear you OP. Do you also do birthday milk? (I do).

Squirrelblanket · 16/12/2024 17:12

Yes, we're on our second bottle of Bailey's.

ginasevern · 16/12/2024 17:14

I was hoping they'd launched a special Christmas Milk that tasted of mince pies or something.
