Taking child on holiday - permission question

6 replies

Hi all

I have a CAO. It doesn't say anything about holidays on it. I understand if there's specific wording on it, then I can take ds on holiday without his dad's permission

Rather than saying "lives with" it says the following;

The court orders by consent the following;

The child shall continue to reside with the mother

Does this mean I can take ds for up to 28 days? I am only going for 4

Tia

And to add, anytime I message ds's father he ignores me. He pops up twice a year if that, so it's impossible to get a letter from him. Tried once before and ended up not going anywhere out of fear of breaking the rules

Yes you can, for up to 28 days. Just don't forget to take the court order with you!

Thank you @daisydaisyrose ! I'll remember to take it with me

That’s great news. Happy to hear. Can I ask which country you took your children on holiday?
