Feel a bit sad about kids going to their dad's

I know this is extremely selfish. But I feel a bit sad that my 2 youngest go to their dad's on boxing day. For 4 nights. It feels like Xmas day gos so fast and it doesn't feel like much time. By the time they come back home it feels like Christmas is over . They spend actual Christmas day here so I can't really moan .

It is a fair arrangement really. They are with me more over the year.

How long have you been divorced?
I understand your feelings. I have been divorced for four years, but still find sharing Christmas difficult. Mine are with me on Christmas Eve as this is the most important celebration in my country and then go to their dad’s after breakfast/brunch on Christmas Day . This year they are going to be back for Boxing Day.
I know that it is fair, but it still hurts. They are 17 and 20 and my DS has been away from home at uni/work placement for two years so it feels even more difficult to ‘share him’.
Are the children with you on New Year’s Eve/Day? If so, maybe create some traditions to make this time really special. That’s what I did in previous years but I am aware that now they will probably prefer to spend this time with their mates, especially my DS.
